When Adil moved to Glasgow from Aberdeen, he found himself starting over. Back up north, he had run his own removal company but in a new city, he needed to figure out his next step.
That’s when he was referred to Jobs & Business Glasgow (JBG) through JobCentre Plus. From day one, he threw himself into the support available, always upbeat, always ready to get involved.
Behind the scenes, JBG had teamed up with Booker to pilot a brand-new role: Trainee HGV Driver. When the opportunity came up, Adil was the perfect fit. He nailed the process and started work on 25th August.
For now, he’s out on the road in a van, getting to know the routes and the customers. But the big prize is coming, once he’s settled, he’ll be funded through his HGV licence. That means more responsibility, bigger vehicles, and a healthy bump in pay.
