Activity Worker

Duties:

Thrive Project - Early Years Activities 

• Plan, prepare and deliver age-appropriate activities for babies and children aged 0-5, including play, sensory, creative, physical, music and storytelling activities. 

• Engage parents and carers and encourage positive interaction and participation with their children. 

• Create welcoming and stimulating environments that support play, learning, communication, confidence and wellbeing. 

• Adapt activities for different ages, developmental stages, abilities and additional support needs. 

Children & Young People 

• Support activities for older children and young people across The Halliday Foundation. 

• Encourage confidence, positive relationships, creativity, teamwork, wellbeing and personal development. 

• Listen to children and young people and encourage them to contribute ideas and feedback about activities.  

Community Activities 

• Support family sessions, holiday programmes, community events, trips, workshops, outreach and partnership activities. 

• Work flexibly across different Halliday Foundation projects and community locations as required. 

• Build positive relationships with families, community members, colleagues, volunteers and partner organisations. 

Activity Planning & Delivery 

• Prepare activity spaces, equipment and resources and ensure they are safe, clean and suitable for use. 

• Help plan inclusive and engaging activities and identify resources required for delivery. 

• Assist with setting up and clearing away activities and ensure spaces are left clean and organised. 

Safeguarding, Inclusion & Wellbeing 

• Follow The Halliday Foundation safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures at all times. 

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and report safeguarding or wellbeing concerns promptly through the correct procedures. 

• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion and ensure participants are treated with dignity, fairness and respect. 

• Help remove barriers to participation and make reasonable adaptations for individuals with additional support needs. 

Monitoring & Administration 

• Maintain accurate attendance, registration and activity records as required. 

• Collect participant feedback and contribute to project monitoring and evaluation. 

• Maintain confidentiality and handle personal information in accordance with Data Protection and GDPR requirements. 

Professional Conduct & Representation 

• Act as a positive representative and ambassador of The Halliday Foundation at all times. 

• Maintain a professional, respectful and compassionate manner when dealing with children, young people, families, partners, volunteers and members of the public. 

• Attend team meetings, supervision and relevant training, and contribute positively to the wider work of the organisation.

• An understanding of the needs and development of young children, particularly those aged 0-5.

• Experience delivering play, youth, recreational or community activities.

• Knowledge of child development and play-based learning. 

• Relevant qualification in Early Years, Childcare, Play work, Youth Work, Community Development,
