Jobs and Business Glasgow (JBG), the city’s leading employability service, has launched its new brand and vision: Better Starts Here.
The rebrand introduces a vibrant new look designed to engage new audiences and help more Glasgow residents into work, training, and skills development.
The registered charity provides free, personalised one-to-one support to anyone over the age of 16 residing within the Glasgow boundary.
With over 50 community-based locations - including libraries, community centres, and shopping hubs - help is available just minutes from residents’ front doors.
Once registered with the service, customers will be matched with a dedicated adviser, within five days, who will work with them to create a tailored plan - whether that means improving a CV, enrolling in a fully funded training course, securing paid work placements, being matched with job opportunities, or simply getting some advice on the next steps.
JBG is on hand to help no matter what stage of the career journey someone may be at – be it leaving school, facing redundancy, returning to work after a break, starting a first job, or looking to upskill and find better-paid work.
With strong links to a wide-ranging network of employers and partners across the city, JBG will connect customers with the best available opportunities in the job market.
The organisation is also proud to be an accredited living wage employer.
Linda Pike, Chair of the Jobs and Business Glasgow board, said: “I’m delighted to introduce the new look and feel of JBG – an inclusive brand designed to reflect our customers’ ambitions and meet the needs of the modern workforce. This marks a new chapter for our organisation, with a clear commitment to deliver employability support that feels approachable, empowering and is easy for anyone to access. Wherever you are on your journey, we’re here to help you succeed—so please register now.”
Customers like Amanpreet Bamrah, a Glasgow resident who transitioned from her role as a complaints manager at a global bank, have discovered new opportunities through JBG. She shared: “After unexpectedly being made redundant from a long-term role, I was determined to turn the change into something positive. JBG stood out because of its face-to-face personalised support offer, something I hadn’t found elsewhere. I registered and was matched with an advisor straight away. The regular check-ins gave me focus and motivation, helping me channel my energy into building the next chapter of my career. JBG invested in me and helped me reframe redundancy as an opportunity to create a better life. Their outstanding support strengthened my confidence—I feel more empowered than ever. I’ve even gone from customer to colleague and now work as a Business Service Coordinator at JBG. I’ve never been happier, and now I get to pay forward the support I received by helping others achieve their goals.”
At just 19, Ellie Watkins transformed her future with assistance from JBG, turning uncertainty into opportunity. She explained: "When I left school, I felt disengaged and had no clear plan for my future. Through my volunteering, I was introduced to JBG and matched with an adviser who opened my eyes to the different pathways available. For the first time, I felt like I had different options and could pursue something I was passionate about. A six-month work placement was transformational—it gave me confidence, helped me develop professional habits, and alongside further training courses and qualifications, built me into a well-rounded candidate able to compete for jobs. My adviser supported me every step of the way, and nothing was ever too much to ask. Young people don’t always know JBG is here to help them, but I’d recommend it to anyone. Today, I’m proud to work for JBG and have even been promoted internally since starting with the organisation."
With JBG’s support and funding, Cristina not only re-entered employment but progressed to a full-time role, proving that the right help can make a life-changing difference. She said: “After 14 years out of work, returning to employment felt totally daunting and overwhelming. I started by taking courses with Parent Network Scotland and volunteering, and I knew I wanted to join the organisation. Thanks to JBG’s funding, I was able to move into a part-time role and now a full-time position—something that wouldn’t have been possible without their support. From day one, JBG offered reassurance, regular check-ins, and worked at a pace that suited me. Their backing has been remarkable and truly life changing.”
