Today we’re proud to introduce the new brand and vision for Jobs & Business Glasgow: Better Starts Here.

Our refreshed identity has been designed to feel modern, recognisable and reflective of the people we support every day. While our look has changed, what we do hasn’t. We’re still here offering free, local, one-to-one support for anyone in Glasgow who wants help with work, training or building confidence for their next step.

Support that’s easy to access and built around you

With more than 30 community locations across the city — including libraries, community centres and local hubs — help is always close by. Once you register, you’ll be matched with an adviser within five days. Together, you’ll build a personalised plan that might include CV support, funded training, paid work placements or simply exploring your options.

Baillie Linda Pike, Chair of the JBG Board, said:

“I’m delighted to introduce the new look and feel of JBG – an inclusive brand designed to reflect our customers’ ambitions and meet the needs of the modern workforce. This marks a new chapter for our organisation, with a clear commitment to deliver employability support that feels approachable, empowering and easy for anyone to access. Wherever you are on your journey, we’re here to help you succeed.”

Our advisers support people at every stage of life — young people leaving school, adults returning to work after a break, and anyone looking to improve their skills or move into better-paid, more secure work.

Real stories. Real progress.

The heart of our service is the difference it makes to people’s lives. Here are just some of the journeys that reflect what “Better Starts Here” means in practice.

Ellie’s story: Finding direction after leaving school

When Ellie left school, she felt “disengaged” and unsure of what came next. Through volunteering, she was introduced to JBG and matched with an adviser who helped her understand the different pathways open to her.

“It gave me confidence, helped me develop professional habits, and alongside further training, built me into a well-rounded candidate able to compete for jobs.”

With support from JBG, Ellie completed a six-month paid placement, gained new qualifications, and is now an Employability Skills Adviser supporting young people aged 16–24.

She says many young people don’t know this type of help exists — and even when they do, they’re not always confident enough to ask for it.

Cristina’s story: Returning to work after 14 years

Cristina spent fourteen years raising her family and caring for her mother. Stepping back into the workplace felt “totally daunting and overwhelming.”

After completing courses and volunteering with Parent Network Scotland, she was offered a role but needed support to make it possible. JBG funded her initial six-month position, helping her rebuild confidence and skills at a pace that suited her.

Today, Cristina has been in work for more than two years. Her message is simple:

“There is no age limit on starting again — and no stigma in asking for support. It’s just a great opportunity to get yourself out there and try things.”

Amanpreet’s story: Reframing redundancy as opportunity

When Amanpreet was made redundant unexpectedly, she turned to JBG for help and was matched with an adviser straight away.

“The regular check-ins gave me focus and motivation. JBG invested in me and helped me reframe redundancy as an opportunity to create a better life. I feel more empowered than ever.”

Amanpreet is now a Business Service Coordinator at JBG, supporting others through the same journey she once navigated herself.

Why we refreshed our brand

As we launch our new identity, our message is simple:

You don’t need to have everything figured out before asking for help.

Whether you’re unsure where to start, looking to build confidence, hoping to return to work, or exploring new career options, we’re here to support you at your pace.

Our vision highlights the many different paths into work, the importance of personalised support, and the belief that it’s never too early — or too late — to begin again.
