Working Location:

The role: Working in the Chief Executive’s Department of Glasgow City Council, located at 40 John Street, Glasgow, with some home working, you will provide an admin and front-line service for the charity. Your main duties will be to welcome customers and provide excellent customer service via telephone, email, online enquiries, or written correspondence. 

It is vital that you have good empathy and a warm rapport with customers as communications will include those from vulnerable groups, potentially managing concerns. Daily admin responsibilities will include inputting data and preparing reports, organising meetings, linking customers to appropriate departments or external services, and completing other administrative tasks and activities to support customers.

The right person: 

  • Is confident using computers, with knowledge of Windows Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Other packages used include; Advice Pro, Carefirst, and Academy but training can be provided,
  • Has strong communication skills, both orally and written, 
  • Has good attention to detail,
  • Must enjoy working as part of a team,
  • Has access to wi-fi to support their ability to work from home,
  • Has a bank account or credit union account in their own name to receive wages,
  • Can be available for online video interview & induction.

The opportunity: The successful applicant will be offered up to a 26-week paid work placement, earning a weekly wage with holiday entitlement and other employee benefits. To take part, availability is required on the anticipated dates:

Working Location:

The role: Working in the Chief Executive’s Department of Glasgow City Council, located at 40 John Street, Glasgow, with some home working, you will provide an admin and front-line service for the newly created, ‘Glasgow Helps’ team, set-up to provide information, advice and support to vulnerable residents across Glasgow City. 

Daily admin responsibilities within this small team, would include maintaining an email inbox by forwarding enquiries to the relevant staff members, arranging team meetings, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, providing excellent customer service via telephone calls, and other admin related duties.

The right person: 

  • Is confident using computers, with knowledge of Windows Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Has strong communication skills, both orally and written, 
  • Has good attention to detail,
  • Must enjoy working as part of a team,
  • Has access to wi-fi to support their ability to work from home,
