One such example tells the story of Ciaran, who came to Jobs & Business Glasgow having been out of work for many years, caring for his parents. Ciaran had previously worked as a set painter for the TV and film industry and the Gallowglass opportunities appealed to him greatly.
Assisted by our staff, he prepared a successful application, and was selected for the Gallowglass employment programme, providing training, work experience, and mentoring. On completion, he joined the event crew team in his new role.
Ciaran has continued his professional development with the successful completion of further industry training courses, including Working at Heights, and Harness Inspection.
With good work ethic, he has already received promotion in his role and prepares to complete advanced industry training which will also see him certified with his Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card, opening doors to further career opportunities which will return greater salary prospects.
